As I was playing with vue I simultaneously(being a man this required a huge effort ) was surfing the net. I found out that Tim Burton is doing Alice in wonderland. Ofcourse I was plenty excited(how I had missed this piece of news for this long I don´t know).
THen I saw that Alice was going to be played by this twenty something hottie. Big dissapointement. Notbecause I don´t like twenty year old gorgeous women, but come on...isn´t alice in wonderland all about growing up and coping with the emotional and physical changes of adolescence?
Call me conventional, but I don´t like when they make child characters grown up.
So just for kicks I decided to make a story about the red queen as a child.
And no, she´s not the red princess. She always was and always will be the queen.
As many poor nannies and governesses have found out she also had quite the temper as a child. It´s really not conducive to good childrearing to risk loosing your head everytime you have to discipline the child.
There is really only one thing that keeps the young queen happy and that is her wonderful garden.
She loves to crawl through thick bushes and climb the large trees. She can lay for hours by the small pond and look at the slowly passing clouds. Often in the afternoons her nanny will find the little girl sleeping nestled in under a Camellia or in the large Sycamore.
This and the fact that she rarely is willing to stoop to letting herself be bathed shows. Her hair is a huge tangled grasstained blob with flowers and twigs sticking out of it.
In this picture she has just found a most curious little door in a portion of the garden wall.
Inside she can see a big hall with a small table in the middle.
Being quite concerned for her garden she decides to lock the door after realizing she can´t even fit her head through it.
Who knows what trouble could come from such a place.
